Toughest Fight 8 on August 15, 2010 (registration is still open.
Good day to everyone in PinoyMMA.com!
We would like to invite all martial arts clubs who would like to compete in our first biggest event for this year, Toughest Fight 8: Fight For Supremacy which will be held on August 15, 2010 at the CBC Gym along Rotonda, Pasig City.
The current fight card can be seen here.
Yaw-yan Kampilan has just pulled out all of their entries for the Open Combat (MMA rules with gi on) event, so registration is still open for all martial arts teams who are interested to compete in the said event and weight classes.
weigh-ins will be on August 8, followed by a refereeing and side-judging seminar for the club presidents (and other fighters) who are interested to know the rules and the scoring system on all four events.

Parang puro full contact karate ang kasali sa tourney. Are you guys switching to Shidokan Karate and leaving Kyokushin. Ang rules nyo kasi similar sa Shidokan Karate.
our friends from ichiban karate (shotokan and aikido base) are now trying to adapt kickboxing, and ang Kyokushin Avenida students have been competing for quite some time now in amateur MMA. ang team New Blood, Kickboxing talaga ang base art nila. i don't see any problem with that at all. they want to compete and promote their clubs and respective martial arts styles as well in the event, so they benefit as well in the event.
and sir, compare nu naman ang dami ng open combat (MMA) matches sa tatlong full-contact matches.
matagal na humiwalay ang Toughguys sa Kyokushin, year 2000 pa. i posted it on a reply sa isang topic dito ng Kyokushin sa PinoyMMA. our style is Vambudo. here's the link to the webpage concerning the style that we teach.
compared sa shidokan na sa isang match ay lalaruan mo lahat ng rules per round, we give our students (and other martial arts clubs) na magcompete kung saan nila gusto- kung gusto nila Kickboxing, ok lang, our friends from Hybrid Yaw-yan don't want to compete in our full-contact event, sa open combat and close combat (grappling) nila gusto, ok lang rin. we give the participants an option to compete kung saan sila komportable maglaro...
ang full-contact matches namin, may 10-second pounding sa ground, sa shidokan videos that i've seen, wala... and ang MMA rules namin has the gi on, cranks, elbows, bicep and calf crush are allowed. after two rounds at walang referee stoppage, TKO or tapout, the fight is called a draw. that's why i really don't see it as similar to shidokan.
we changed our full-contact rules so that we can also try to compete in MMA events, as our club president Sensei Vincent Vicencio says, "it's not the martial art style that makes you better, it's you who makes your martial arts style better".we're continuously trying to improve the style that we teach.
we would like to invite you as well on August 8, after the weigh-ins for the event, to attend our Refereeing and Side-judging seminar so that you can understand how our competitions go, the rules, and scoring system that we use.

update- Aug 4 2010:
-ian briones (hybrid yaw-yan) will not be able to compete, and he will be replaced by carlos tiongson.
-freddie magada (new blood) will not be able to compete as well; We welcome team submission sport to our event, mr. magada will be replaced by eugene toquero (submission sport).
admission is free, so if you're interested to join in our later Toughest Fight events, feel free to watch....
registration for our 2nd qualifying event (On October/November) is now open, we will only entertain one team per weight class for the Open Combat events (to make way for other teams as well). pwede rin po mag-register for our full-contact, kickboxing and close combat (grappling) events.
winners in the August 15 qualifying event and 2nd qualifying event gets the chance to compete in the main fights on December.

hindi naman nagwithraw ang Yaw Yan kampilan
