    From my recollection, yes, they are different spellings of the same thing. Basically Baraw Sugbo translates literally to Cebu (Sugbo or Sugbu) Knife (Baraw or Barao). It's also the official name for an art that was called Arnes Diablo (Hands of the devil). It's a form of FMA knifefighting. It may be confused with GM Yuli Romo's Bahad Zu'bu (prehispanic spelling for sugbu) Mangtas (or Mang'Tass) Baraw, which is his personal style and family art. This art employs both stick and knife. I'm open to be corrected as I'm not really sure.
