Is it safe to travel to the Philippines during elections?
I bought a ticket to the philippines to arrive on May 5th. Im hearing to be cautious because of the violence related to the election. Should I pay the cancellation fee and just fly out there the next week or go as planned?

Most of the Philippines is safe most of the time, even during elections.

Just stay away from Maguindanao and remove any political affiliated stickers/ballers/identification marks(if any) on your car or on your body and you should be fine. Lastly, try not to say something that's related to politics. Some people just can't handle the truth(balat sibuyas ba) and will try to get in your face if they hear you say anything.

The only thing that's not safe here is the annoying campaign jingles lambasting your eardrums, especially in the province.
But everything is fine here.

Should be no worries. Just fly here and follow what our brothers here have said.
Are your here for our beaches? (not the sound alike thingy)
