it is my belief that there is no such thing as painless training. pain is part of it. as my teacher once said: "if there is no pain, you're doing it wrong". do not view pain as the enemy. pain is our friend and teacher.

thank you!! through pain we learn.. haha.. but how can we improve our kick?? can you suggest something for us??
I think Ateneo Vamos Para Frente-VPF (c/o A.Sulit Sensei) has free sessions once a month. You can also ask for sample sessions for ex. Hybrid Yaw Yan in Cubao. Even MAP Ultra gives sample session too.
PM jtreyes. I think he found a kind hearted gym where he was given free instruction.
but eventually, you'll have to save money to pay for instructions (like how to kick, punch, etc.).

thnx anyway.. but im from cebu.. can you tell me the estimate payment for the instructor?? my friends and i really like to learn mix martial arts.. hahaha..
where should we hit the bag in kicking?? in the shin or in the top of the feet?? im kinda confused on dat thing.. haha
What art do you want ba? I think you have to go and get formal instructions muna and then practice with your bags. If you're in QC, the Amoranto Sports Complex has Taekwondo and Muay Thai programs with which you can apply for a youth program training thingy at their office and possible train for free.
In doing roundhouse kicks, Muay usually uses the shin to kick while Taekwondo uses that part in the joint area of your foot. But, you may not deliver it properly unless you get formal instructions as I previously mentioned.
Good luck!
@ cj, get instruction. proper instruction. mahirap na yan. self-teaching leads to unchecked mistakes and bad form that will reult in bad injuries, bad form and bad habits that are detremental to you as both a person and a fighter.
piece of unsolicited advise would be pick somewhere to start. boxing is always a good base. so is yawyan. so is muay and judo. if i remember correctly my cousin told me that there are places there that teach those. dumagete has deftac btw.
peace and love and happiness
ok.. thank you mga sir.. save money po muna ako.. hahaha.. maraming salamat sa mga advice nyo...
CJ,
If you're going for MMA training, Cardio muna... gawing habit yan, panalo ka na...
Here's a few earlier threads that focuses on how Newbies can get started and where to get instruction. It also has a price range, but since you're in Cebu (City?), rates varies from Gym to Gym and Instructor.:
Question: What is better for a newbie? Class or One-on-one sessions?
Is there any MMA fights here in Cebu?
