Default Standup and Ground training. . .

Hi group. .. i just want to share my view. i dont mean any harm to any disciplines here. . .this is MY own view na gusto ko lang share sa inyo. . .

I started training years ago.. boxing. i told myself.. i just want to learn how to punch.. and that's it. time came.. sabi ko parang kulang.. so i thought of training including kicks.. so i trained muay. I have been training boxing and muay for years.. though 1x a week lang since that's my most available time. yung mga trainer ko and some friends who are into MMA are suggesting me.. try BJJ or any ground game.. first i was curious really ano ba etong bjj at madaming nahihilig dito. . .sabi sakn ng kakilala ko before its more of a chess game when you are in the ground since you need to think what's your next step and counter your partner's. though i was really never a fan of ground game.. yes mahilig ako sa WWE pero iba naman kasi iyon :P in my years of training.. mas napamahal sa akin ang standup.. though i have friends to train MMA na mas love nila ang ground. so time permitted na nagkaroon wrestling near our place handled by a known wrestler/mma fighter..(he is a good trainer.. detailed magturo) i tried it since its every sunday ok lang.. siguro atleast naka 10sessions din ako.. then it was stopped since nagkroon time na ndi ako pde ng sundays.. now that im free on sundays parang feeling ko.. im not really into the ground.. parang mas andun yung dugo ko when i train muay or boxing.. ndi ko masasabing mas comfortable ako sa standup since i tried wrestling din naman for several succeeding weeks.. but parang ndi ko talaga feel. besides im not competing in MMA.. (though i really watch URCC/ FFC live ) so MMA padin

i just shared my view on this.. i'm working also.. of course i have a career to improve and all.. that's why i can train since i got my own money to pay those. . .

just wanted to take some inputs on you guys. . . do you train standup and ground because you plan to join competitions even if you have a stable job OR you train for self defense? i know some of you loves BOTH.. or loves ground MORE than standup.. pero ayun.. ako nga i favor standup than ground. . . ako i train for added fitness and self defense .. i know ALL disciplines are applicable in a street fight .. i mean nasa practitioner talaga di ba. . but as i said.. on my wrestling experience.. i think im really not into it..

mahirap naman na i will train since the gym is near our place and the fee is affordable .. i mean sayang din yun ibabayad ko if hindi ko naman ma-isasa puso ang game di ba? parang lalabas i just train para masabing i train MMA but in reality hindi ko na papasok sa system ko yung tinuturo kasi nga i'm not into it. ..

I train both kasi even if I favor a certain aspect, its always best na you are well-rounded...

and kahit na hindi ka competitor, practitioner lang, it makes you appreciate watching MMA even more since nakikita mo yung details ng certain moves...

mahalaga lang talaga is yung roots...yung may core discipline ka saka ka mag branch out or mixing the other arts..

I trained to compete kasi extreme sports ang gusto ko and for me MMA or Fighting Legit is the best way to go. However iba ang instinct ng fighter sa self defense practitioner di ko lang alam kung napapansin nyo.
