Default Using a variation of the thai clinch for boxing

I tried it out while sparring and was met with success. When you're in a corner you can briefly tie up and control the neck to change positions. You can also do this while outside of a corner and you want to put the other guy there. What I do is do a single collar tie and an underhook and explosively turn the other guy. The trick is to do it quickly so that the ref doesn't have time to separate the two of you. Anyone else have any experience with this?

Was just about to say that it's illegal, but if you don't get caught, why not? But you have to be super fast or the ref has to be kinda stupid for you to be able to pull that off in a boxing match.

If you do it with one arm alone (half a thai clinch with only the left or right hand or single collar tie) and pivot fast enough to drag his carcass around the ring without the ref noticing, of course. The full thai clinch is a different matter. Besides being illegal, it is also much easier to spot.

watch old ali fights when he was cassius clay. He was using the "thai style" clinch. It was ali that made it illegal later in boxing.
