like what burungkol said, check mo na lang sa buhawi...
Go for it. Get all the training you can get your hands on.
Ryan Paglinawan's base art is Shotokan karate, but he's also good in Judo (former UAAP Judo Tournament Rookie of the Year) and powerlifting. He, Pangalanan, and Sabeniano were brothers in a fraternity based in UP Diliman. UP MMA Club was more of an after-school club open for those UP students who are interested in mixed martial arts. One of SPRAWL's original members and current faculty member of UP College of Human Kinetics, Wisdom Valleser, also became one of the advisers of the club before.
maraming salamat mga kapatid.. i see some negatives and positves about sa post ko..
as what you were asking.. i would like to work up on my striking since alam ko sa sarili ko na mahina ako sumuntok ..gusto ko siya palakasin at pabilisin.. sa grapplin naman i believe i can work on it faster than striking. since i gave the name and mukang kilala naman nung iba yung trainer sa lalo tuloy ako naguluhan. i have decided na subukan muna to then gauge myself kung san talaga ako bagay. mas ok sana maging well rounded ako sa lahat para din mas ok sa combat.
taga novaliches/fairview po ako meron po ba kayo ma susuggest sakin na gym or trainer na credible enough to train us and be good fighters na din. desidido naman po kami since matagal na namin to pinaghahandaan. we set aside some activities para lang magkaoras sa mma training.
Not only para palakasin at pabilisin ang striking mo, but so that you will have a feel for a base art. Try a striking art and a grappling art and try to feel kung saan ka mas comfortable. May Muay Thai na accredited ng Muay Association of the Philippines yata sa Fairview or sa vicinity. Having Yawyan as your striking base art would be excellent too. If you think you can work on grappling faster, better think twice. Tulad ng striking, kelangan din ito ng mastery and it is not as easy as you think.
Ayus din sa UP Sprawl.
I guess pick a good martial art base muna... and then cardio + strenght training.. and everything will follow.. like machete said.. get all the training you could get.. i was in your shoes before.. now im still having hard time ... but its a good sport... so just continue training and good luck..
salamat mga kapatid. regarding sa muay thai gym dito sa fairview meron sa tapat ng ncba na gym na nag ooffer ng mua thai. my friend started there already sabi niya ok naman daw dun at may sparring sessions din.. pwede ko ba pag sabayin ang training ng grappling at striking? lets say sa isang buwan ang available time ko lang isa weekends talaga so pano yun? isang sabado puro striking ako then next sabado naman grappling naman? i dont know a good program for this in the first place akoy isang virgin pa sa larangan na ito..i really want to learn this kasi i believe this will be a great outlet for me sa stress at excellent way to be fit. im not in it naman sa basag ulon eh.
^ Wala ka matututunan nyan.. Mag babad ka muna in one aspect then dabble on another aspect after 6 months-1 year training in 1 other aspect.
