sir, i don't exactly know what you are asking. (1) best workouts and conditioning to do splits? or (2) what kind of splits for higher kicks? or (3) best workouts and conditioning to do higher kicks?

    i'll try:
#3. - for higher kicks, do stretch your legs PROPERLY. the best stretch, for me, is doing variations of splits.
#2. - i do different kinds, all of them are YAW-YAN based such as side-splits, front side splits, etc.
#1. - there are no conditioning needed for this. you just have to execute them properly to avoid injuries. also note that every person is different. each one has their own stretching limits and capabilities. the only important thing is to stretch effectively.

remember that splitting doesnt come overnight. just push yourself to go lower gradually after exhaling until maabot mo yung max na kaya mo. hold for 8 seconds then return. repeat for about 3 sets

Yep. reminds me of Billy. Always emphasized splits = controlled, effortless kicks.

actually it is a warm up and cool down excercise in itself. coz it can relax tense muscles and also get the blood circulating. Yoga can do wonders for your stretching capacity.
