ever heard of the tandava? its the sacred dance of Shiva the hindu lord of creation and destruction. since the kingdom of Siam (thailand) has been influenced by a number of neighboring countries such as myanmar and India, it is natural to get some aspects of a particular culture from time to time.
our training in muay thai here includes ancient muay thai boxing such as muay boran and taksa where a lot of it includes meditation, prayer and yes dance. we have a workout emulating shiva's tandava. we use it as a warm up but the further you understand it's meaning you get more of a workout from it. sort of like a placebo effect (but not a placebo) coz you kinda put yourself in the position of a God. (hey if that wont perk you up in the morning I dont know what will) I guess you could read up on it and other meditation techniques to help you out.
But personally these excercises dont give you the warmodeness. but the focus you need for the goal you need to achieve. go to the battle with a clear mind. many times you lose the fight not because your opponent conquered you but because you could not conquer yourself.
I hope that helps. took me a while to type it
