    Default Need help in boxing

Hi, im new here. I need some help in boxing..

When you fight/spar, san po kayo tumitingin? sa dibdib ng kalaban? sa kamay? ang problema ko po kasi, pag nagssparring kami ng coach ko, i can't see the punches coming, i keep getting hit at halos hindi ako maka ilag. tsaka pano ko po mapipigilan ung pagpikit? lagi po kasi ako napapapikit pag inuulanan na ko ng suntok e. and last, pano ko po maiimprove yung reaction time ko? sensya na po kung madaming tanong, baguhan lang po ako e. maraming salamat po.

    Hey jasper00,

I tend to look at the middle of the collar bone, and rely on my peripheral vision (even though I have poor eyesight, L-150:R-270) the way the shoulders move is aways a dead giveaway to what's mostly coming.

Sa pagpikit, tendency yan madalas ng cringe/flinch mentality ng katawan na "AYOKO NG SAKIT! ILAG!" and that you're not tensed enough that your body is trying to brace itself from any impact that the eyes signal to the rest of your body.

Magandang lunas, magpatama ka lagi, or ikaw mag hold ng pads, mits, bags, para makita mo yung galaw ng boxer. At least masanay ka sa pain at ma tone down mo paunti unti yung flinch reflex mo.

Great tips! Thing is though, when you're still a beginner, it's not advisable to spar a lot. Doing "partner-play" drills will give you the feel of the movements.

" lahat ng boxer eh nasusuntok sa muka, kahit na magaling ka pang boxer eh masusuntok ka parin sa muka, kung ayaw mong masuntok sa muka eh hwag kang mag boxing, pag pumikit ka mas lalo kang masusuntok" ...and yes, the FEAR of being punch in the face is the one that makes you close your eyes.

true. that answer yor first question....

try to spar more, the more you spar the more you gain experience and confidence in your skils. and try to learn how to hold pads. because for me, it is the best way to really see the punches upclose and going on your direction and not get hit at the same time. (and for for improving your reflex.... bahala na yung trainer mo kng anung ipapagawa sayong mga drills to improve that.)

it's a bit on the crazy side, but i used to hit myself (lightly) with gloves on and force myself not to flinch. also, spar more and you'll get used to it eventually. the old adage that practice makes perfect isn't only wise, it's also true.

What improvement do you want? Parang katulad din ba ni jasper00? Or is it something else?

    Specify to edify...
